Maple Wood Playfield - Planting at Maple Wood …03/15/2020

This event was canceled

Activities

This site is a fascinating little wetland area with an abundance of Oregon ash. We will be adding about 80 new bare root trees and shrubs to the landscape under restoration. We'll train on the appropriate planting techniques to increase the survival rate of these plantings. Finally, we'll appreciate the new spring foliage and start removing the new crop of invasive plants beginning to re-populate our restoration planting area.

All ages OK

1 out of 9 participants registered.

What to Bring

Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking shoes or boots), long sleeves, long pants, warm layers and rain jacket. We'll have tools and gloves to use, as well as coffee, water, and a mid-morning snack. Help reduce waste by bringing your own refillable coffee mug/water bottle if you have one.

Where to Meet

We'll meet at our Job Box by the playground just to the north of the parking area.

Where to Park

Maple Wood Playfield has a designated parking lot @ 4801 Corson Ave S. Between the parking lot and street parking, options are plentiful.
