Spend a morning at Genesee Park as we get the plants ready for the heat of summer. We'll be weeding and mulching while enjoying the forest at its most vibrant time of year.

What to Bring

Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking shoes or boots), long sleeves, long pants, and rain jacket. We'll have tools and gloves for you to use, as well as water and a mid-morning snack. Help reduce waste by bringing your own refillable coffee mug/water bottle if you have one!

Where to Meet

Meet in the forest on the East Side of the Genesee Meadow. From the parking lot, walk north, towards the lake, past the picnic shelter towards the trail kiosk. The site is just to the east of the kiosk. (if you are by the soccer fields you are in the wrong part of the park!)

Where to Park

Park in the gravel lot next to the Parks maintenance building on the north side of Genesee St. or along the perimeter of the park on 43rd Ave. S. The 50 bus will drop you in the same place.
