Beaver Pond Natural Area on TC - Nurturing Natives Rescheduled Workparty …06/27/2021

This event was canceled

Activities

Same time, same place just a new date because we got a little rained out at the last work party. Same activities: Remove blackberry patches, and remove bindweed, herb robert, and ivy from around recently planted native shrubs and perennials. Some mulching needed as well. If windy and rainy again, work party will be rescheduled.

Adults only

1 out of 8 participants registered.

What to Bring

Shovels, loppers, tarps, buckets and wheelbarrows provided. Mulch provided. Bring your favorite tools especially if it is a hand pruner and/or hand held polaski. Please make sure they are marked so we can ensure they go home with you. Please bring your own snacks and beverages if needed, and face mask for sign in and initial directions until we get you placed. We will be distancing to ensure everyone stays safe. Long slacks and long sleeves highly recommended along with sturdy work shoes for attire.

Where to Meet

Meet at the entry on the west side of 8th Ave NE, just a few hundred yards south of NE 105th Street, near the Northgate Community Center. Landmarks include a large mulch pile just off the curb, and a large redwood tree. Look for Forest Steward with sign in sheet.

Where to Park

Limited parking on residential streets around the natural area on NE 105th, 8th Ave NE, and NE 104th. Another option is to park around the Northgate Mall and walk across 5th Ave NE on NE 105th, then turn right to head south on 8th Ave NE, and start watching for the entry on your right.
