Activities

Late afternoon blackberry excavation --- it's hard but really satisfying work clipping, pulling out, and then digging out rootballs.

Adults only

2 out of 5 participants registered.

What to Bring

Wear sturdy shoes, the ground is uneven and somewhat soft. Suggest sleeves and pants, though this day will be hot. I'll have water available.

Where to Meet

the 'Jan Young' area, which is a flat area along the main loop trail. If you come in from the Emerson/39th Ave gate entrance, go up to the left until you hit the loop trail sign at the rather large tree with a bit of holly regrowing. Turn right and go about 15 years on, you'll see the space.
If you are coming from the S. parking lot, come east along the little paved roadway (named Carolina on some maps) to the downward path lined with branches to the main trail, go left past the same large tree described above, and carry on from there as noted.

Where to Park

South parking lot or along Emerson near the 39th Street or 41st Street gates is usually easy.
