SUMMARY: Event Green Seattle Day at Kubota Garden
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Plant a forest and grow community! Help us create a healthier, happier, and greener Seattle by coming out to end Seattle Forest Week on Green Seattle Day! Lets improve wildlife habitat, combat climate change, and providing a place for community members to recreate.

Join EarthCorps, the Green Seattle Partnership and Seattle parks & Recreation as we work to restore the urban forest around Kubota Garden! Located in the Rainier Beach Neighborhood in SE Seattle, Kubota Garden is an American-Japanese Garden designed and built by Mr. Fujitaro Kubota. Construction of this gem began in 1927 and lasted beyond the lifetime of Mr. Kubota. Today, the Gardens are owned by the City of Seattle and maintained by the Seattle Parks Department. The garden is surrounded by a natural buffer of urban forest, some of which has only recently been acquired by the city.

During this event, we'll be planting native shrubs and trees in an area that was previously dominated by invasive English Ivy. No experience required. Water, tea, snacks, and tools will be provided.

Check out SeattleForestWeek.org for more information on the celebration of Seattle’s forests during the week of October 22-29!
