SUMMARY: Event Deep Mulching Bare Ground in Seward Park's old-growth forest
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Some areas in the old-growth forest have lost their understory, due to exuberant off-trail use by visitors. We are reclaiming them, site by site. We mulch to a foot deep, let the soil & microbiome develop, then plant a season or two later. In this event we will move lots of mulch by wheelbarrow into one large, long bare quarter acre site.
