Whether you're experienced, or just getting started, Heron Habitat Helpers is offering a unique opportunity to learn about habitat restoration from a certified ecologist with decades of experience in the Pacific Northwest. Join us in supporting the ongoing restoration of forest habitats, guiding them toward becoming mature, self-sustaining mixed coniferous and deciduous forests. By nurturing healthy forests, you'll be contributing to efforts that help mitigate climate change—trees and other woody plants absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, storing it in their tissues. We'll provide all the training you need. Connect with like-minded individuals and help restore urban forests to health. Skills you'll gain include native plant identification, understanding habitat needs, recognizing and controlling invasive species, planting densities and plans, and effective mulching practices.
