SUMMARY: Event Miyawaki forest restoration and maintenance.
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:We are experimenting with a modified Miyawaki style forested restoration where we are using live stakes densely planted amongst standard forest restoration spacing to create a dense planting to shade out Himalayan blackberries.  This area was planted last fall but needs a little bit of care this year to make sure the intended plants are thriving.  This will involve a lot of pulling cleavers, thistle, blackberry resprouts and perennial pea to give room for the native plants to thrive.  All tools will be provided.
