SUMMARY: Event Seattle Forest Week at Camp Long
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Seattle Forest Week is November 7th - 15th!

Be prepared for a day of blackberry removal! One of the early and necessary steps to restoring and sustaining healthy forests in our city is to clear out overabundant plants like Himalayan Blackberry that take up huge amounts of space and prevent other plants, like native conifers, from growing. We will end the event with some planting, and each volunteer will get to plant at least one plant! But this area we are working in is still mostly in the "make some space before you plant" phase.

Plant a forest and grow community! This is the time of year that we get together with our neighbors and kick off tree planting season. From creating wildlife habitat, to combating climate change, and providing a place for residents to recreate: having a hand in Seattle Forest Week is one of the best ways to give back to your neighbors, parks, and your local forest.

Join the fun and be one of hundreds of volunteers across the city planting native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers that will become the future forest of Seattle. All community members are welcome, and no experience is necessary. These events are family friendly and open to all ages.
