SUMMARY: Event Garry Oak and Camas Planting
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Did you know that our one native oak tree, the Garry oak, supports far more caterpillars than any other tree in our region; more than 200 caterpillars are reliant on Garry oaks. We have some Garry oaks, madronas, camas, goldenrod and asters to add to the south meadow, increasing the biodiversity and improving the habitat in a grassland of mostly exotic pasture grasses. The planting will involve a good bit of preparation since the grasses are a hostile environment for new transplants.
