Discovery Park - Capehart Girl Scout day.04/20/2019

Activities

We will be working at the SE corner of the Capehart parcel, where an old fenceline was recently removed, along with a large amount of blackberry. We will be removing as much residual blackberry roots by hand as possible and preparing planting zones for planting season next fall by getting the soil ready with arborist mulch and berms.

All ages OK

25 out of 50 participants registered.

What to Bring

Hiking boots with heavy soles recommended. Running shoes not recommended.
Heavy leather gloves.
Felco hand clipper or similar model
long handled tree loppers

Where to Meet

The site is along Discovery Park BLVD just west of the Historic District just before the hill down to Wespoint lighthouse. See attached diagram for meeting place. It's about a 15 minute hike from the south, east or north parking lots.

Where to Park

I will be able to pick people up from the south parking lot before 10 am. Call me on my cell if you need a ride from there.
