Little Brook Natural Area - First Fall Workparty at …09/22/2019

Activities

Start off fall with an invasive removal project at Little Brook Natural area that gets the ground ready for planting natives in October and November. Area is flat and easy to get to. Focus will be on blackberry, ivy, and some smaller to pull weeds. After clearing the area, help haul mulch and spread it to keep the weeds out until planting time. Learn about native plants and safety techniques.

What to Bring

Tools and supplies provided. If you bring your favorite tool, please mark it so we can get it back to you. Recommend wearing long slacks and sturdy shoes to protect you from the blackberry. Please you’re your gloves if you have them. Limited supply of gloves will be available. Light refreshments provided.

Where to Meet

Meet at the northern entrance of a loop trail that leads off from 36th Ave NE. Site address is near 11725 36th Ave NE. If you are coming from I-5, take the NE 130th street exit and head east. It will become NE 125th. Take it all the way to 36th Ave NE, then turn right to go south on 36th Ave NE. Entrance will be on your right between NE 120th and NE 117th (vacated street). Look for mulch pile and sign in sheet.

Where to Park

Parking is available on residential streets in the neighborhood.
