Lincoln Park - FLiP (Friends of Lincoln …01/19/2020

Activities

Now, more than ever, our planet needs your service. Help us continue Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service by making a commitment to our planet and our community. Join FliP (Friends of Lincoln Park) as we work to restore the beautiful mature forests of our park. Once you visit this park, on the shores of Puget Sound, you won't want to leave. Lincoln Park includes 80 acres of forest, with a huge diversity of Puget Lowland native plants. Sadly, our forest is threatened by nonnative, invasive plants (blackberry, english ivy, holly.). This is where YOU come in! We promise you a good workout and lots of eco-karma. Good for the environment and good for your health! FOR LARGER GROUPS, please contact organizer (lmcginty206@gmail.com).

What to Bring

Dress in NW layers to stay warm/cool and dry. We suggest long sleeves and pants year around to protect from scratches. Wear closed toe, sturdy shoes or boots. Bring a water bottle to keep hydrated, garden/work gloves and and your favorite digging tool. Forget your gloves? No worries, we will have extra gloves and tools available to borrow.

Where to Meet

Lincoln Park is located just north of the Vashon Ferry dock in West Seattle. We meet near the kiosk in the NORTH parking lot on Fauntleroy Way SW (and SW Rose St). If you're running late, check the kiosk map to see where we are working or call Lisa at 248-506-7155.

Where to Park

NORTH parking lot or street parking on Fauntleroy SW. The Rapid Ride C bus from downtown or Westwood Village runs about every 15 minutes and stops at SW Rose St by the parking lot.
