Beaver Pond Natural Area on TC - Nurturing Natives Weeding Party …06/13/2021

Activities

Join us for our last blast to remove blackberry and other invasives around newly planted native shrubs and wildflowers before taking a break for summer. Area is level and weeds easy to access. We are always glad to show off the restoration from previous years and Thornton Creek if you want a quick tour. Wildflowers might be in bloom too.

Adults only

2 out of 8 participants registered.

What to Bring

Shovels, loppers, buckets, and tarps provided. You are welcome to bring your favorite tools such as pruners or hand digging tools. Please mark them so we make sure they go home with you. Please bring your own gloves and face mask. We will continue masking and distancing to ensure all are protected. Sanitizing supplies will also be on hand. Please also bring your own snacks and beverages if needed. Long slacks, long sleeves, and sturdy shoes highly recommended for workparty attire!

Where to Meet

Meet at entry on west side of 8th Ave NE, just south of NE 105th street. The natural area is south of the Northgate Community Center across NE 105th and directly behind Pacific Medical Clinic to the east. Look for large mulch pile trough at street edge and large redwood tree just after you enter. Someone will be there to sign you in.

Where to Park

Limited parking on residential streets around the natural area. If you park at or around Northgate, come across 5th Ave NE from the mall on NE 105th and head east to 8th Ave NE. Take a turn to the right and walk a few hundred feet south on 8th Ave NE to the entry trail.
