Help us make quick work of ivy growing around and away from a beautiful, signature redwood tree growing at streamside of Thornton Creek. Area is level and away from the floodplain, easy to access from 8th Ave NE.

What to Bring

Loppers, shovels, hand held weeding hoes, tarps, and buckets all provided. If you have a favorite tool you want to bring, like pruners, please mark them so we can make sure they go home with you. Sturdy shoes, long slacks, long sleeves strongly advised. Please bring your own face mask for start of event, your own gloves, and snacks and beverages if needed.

Where to Meet

Meet at entry trail on the west side of 8th Ave NE, south of NE 105th Street. Look for sign-in box, large mulch pile, and the large redwood tree. Address is 13002 10th Ave NE. If getting there from I-5, take the Northgate exit, go east on Northgate Way to 8th Ave NE, then take a right and head south on 8th Ave NE just past NE 105th Street to entry trail.

Where to Park

Parking is limited in surrounding residential neighborhood, but there is parking at Northgate parking lot. Cross 5th Ave NE from the parking lot on NE 105th Street past the Community Center, and walk to 8th Ave NE, then take a right and entry will be few hundred feet on your right.
