Beaver Pond Natural Area on TC - First Fall Workparty Beaver …10/02/2022

Activities

Buttercups pretty to look at but giving our baby rhodies a hard time! Help us remove the last of the buttercup carpet at the 104th street entry of Beaver Pond Natural Area, followed by mulching to help keep it from getting a foothold again. If we get finished with that, there is some easy maintenance weeding around new natives planted last fall by 105th Street. OR we may break into two teams if we get enough volunteers, and then you can pick your preferred weeding pastime.

All ages OK

9 out of 20 participants registered.

What to Bring

Tools, tarps, buckets, wheelbarrows and mulch all provided. Bring yourself dressed in long sleeves, long slacks, sturdy shoes, and work gloves. If you bring your own tools, please mark them so we can make sure they go home with you. Please bring your own refreshments if needed for the two hours.

Where to Meet

Meet at the NE 104th Street end, south side of Pacific Medical Clinic. If you travel via I-5, take the Northgate exit and go north to Northgate Way. Stay on Northgate Way until 5th Ave NE, then turn right and head south on 5th Ave NE. Go past the Northgate Community Center, and just past the Pacific Medical Clinic to the dead-end street NE 104th Street. You will see the entry to the Pacific Medical Clinic parking garage and the stairs into the natural area. We will have a sign-in sheet ready and will be waiting for you at the top of the stairs.

Where to Park

Limited parking on residential streets. You could also park at Northgate and cross 5th Ave NE to the natural area entry point.
