Lincoln Park - Green Seattle Day at …11/18/2023

Activities

Plant a forest and grow community! Help us create a healthier, happier, and greener Seattle by coming out to kick off planting Season on Green Seattle Day! This is our RESCHEDULED event after canceling on November 4 b/c of high winds. From creating wildlife habitat, to combating climate change, and providing a place for residents to recreate: having a hand in Green Seattle Day is one of the best ways to give back to your neighbors, parks, and your local forest.

Join the fun with Lincoln Park Forest Stewards and be one of hundreds of volunteers across the city planting native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers that will become the future forest of Seattle. All community members are welcome, and no experience is necessary! The event is family friendly and open to all ages.

What to Bring

Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking shoes or boots), long sleeves, long pants, warm layers and rain jacket. We'll have tools and gloves for you to use, as well as coffee, water, and a mid-morning snack. Help reduce waste by bringing your own refillable coffee mug/water bottle if you have one! SPECIAL PERFORMANCE: Local WSHS band, The Potholes are back by popular demand and will play their acoustic hearts out for volunteers as we plant.

Where to Meet

Meet at the GSD planting event site which is just south of the NORTH Parking lot-see below for directions:

FROM THE NORTH LOT: Upon entering the main entrance from the north parking lot, turn left/south after you pass the map kiosk. (If you are facing the front of the map kiosk, the planting site is just a two minute walk to your left.)

FROM THE SOUTH LOT: Please enter the park and take the first trail to your right (heading north). The GSD site is about a five min walk from the SOUTH parking lot - look for tent just before you reach the north lot. (Note: You will NOT be heading down-slope to the water)
