Activities
Kicking off Earth Week! Help us clear the an invasive blackberry patch in a wide open area of the south meadow. This patch is near the south meadow bathroom; if you're late meet us there. This will primarily require digging the blackberry rootballs. We will mulch disturbed areas with wood chips to keep weed seeds and resprouts at bay. Loppers, pitchforks, hand tillers, wheelbarrows and heavy-duty shovels will be used to accomplish our task.
EXTRA SPECIAL TREAT, WE'LL HAVE HOME-MADE COOKIES DURING OUR WATER BREAK.
All ages OK
16 out of 20 participants registered.
What to Bring
Work gloves (I have some loaner gloves if you don't have your own), boots, long pants, weather appropriate clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and something to stay hydrated. We'll be taking a water break halfway through the event.
Where to Meet
Meet at the junction of the gravel meadow access road and the westerly parade grounds paved park road. This is 900' WSW of the large white radar tower and is a 10-minute walk from the south parking lot (please allow enough time to walk to and from the meeting site).
