Discovery Park - Spruce Island Blackberry Resprout …04/30/2024

Activities

Even though we thought we got every root last year, blackberry has a way of hiding until springtime. But now they are showing themselves and are very easily dug up. We'll spread mulch wherever we disturb the soil to make sure that weed seeds don't have a chance to sprout. We'll take a tour of all the diversity planted in the site last fall and assess the transplant success.

Adults only

3 out of 15 participants registered.

What to Bring

Work gloves (I have some loaner gloves if you don't have your own), boots, long pants, weather appropriate clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and something to stay hydrated. We'll be taking a water break halfway through the event.
