Little Brook Natural Area - Native Plant Rescue at …06/15/2024

This event was canceled

Activities

A variety of invasives in various sections of Little Brook Natural Area are hiding last fall's native plantings and we need you to join this "treasure hunt" to uncover them! Areas are level and easy to access, but caution is needed as you work around existing native plants that are orange flag and blue tape marked. Work party will be launched with a brief orientation to work plan, techniques, and tool safety.

All ages OK

4 out of 10 participants registered.

What to Bring

Please bring yourselves dressed in long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes, and work gloves. We have a few pair of spare gloves if you don't have any yet. Tools, tarps, and buckets provided. Please mark your favorite tools if you bring them. Water provided, but please bring your own snack if needed.

Where to Meet

Meet at north entry trail directly south of adjacent residence at 11719 36th Ave NE. If coming from I-5, take the NE 130th Street exit and follow it eastward. NE 130th Street becomes NE 125th Street, and you should turn right to head south on 36th Ave NE. Cross NE120th street and watch for signage, a forest steward, and a mulch pile at the entry on the west side of the street.

Where to Park

Limited parking is available on surrounding residential streets. There are bus stops on 35th Ave NE and you can walk from those using NE 120th Street to 36th Ave NE.
