Futures Rising is inviting you to nourish and restore the land. We will be tending the land where we have planted traditional foods and medicines. This space will center Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to come together to talk about possibilities, be held by the land and each other. In our deep need for community and the restoration of relation with the land we invite you to share space with us!

During this time we will be reflecting on the teachings of interdependence and how the plant people can show us the way. We will be working on preparing the space for this years planting of traditional foods and medicines.

Here is a loose agenda to center our youth in their learning:
Week 5-Generosity: Oak , Cedar & Rose
8/05 Monday: Maplewood Our Nature is Nourishing
Welcoming and opening protocal 15-20
Go over group agreements 5-10
Salmon,Bear, Mosquito 10 - 15
Look at the land, Work on the Land, and tell the story 2
Teaching: Deepening the understanding of the history and place making. Looking at signs of forest succession. Where are these things happening on the land? How are we seeing this in our lives, communities, as human beginnings? How do we collectively and individually tend these practices and processes? How do we build belonging in ourselves, communities, and relationship with the Earth?
Work on Trails, Mulching, Pulling Ivy and Blackberry
Lunch 30-45
Find a area for medicine making and grinding stone 2
Tend the area, Learn about the generous nature of ourselves and Oak, Cedar and Rose.
Make small designs on the grinding stone and found object to adorn this space
Play 30
Conversation and Snacks 30
Closing
(Community can choose to engage in all or none of the activities. Please know you are welcome.)
