Herrings House Park (Tulaltwx) - Duwamish Alive! Celebrate and …10/19/2024
Activities
Join us for this day of celebration and stewardship of our Duwamish River and its salmon, as we work with other locations throughout the watershed in improving its health. Fall has arrived along the Duwamish, Seattle’s only river, now a live with the return of all 5 species of its salmon. This is one of the best times to visit and help restore one of the few habitats in the lower river which supports not only salmon but a wide variety of wildlife in this ancestral home of the Duwamish People. We will be removing weeds and planting of native plants that are significant for the Duwamish Tribe. Learn about the river, its wildlife and the Duwamish Tribe at the Longhouse, across from the park. This park is easy accessed with flat, short paths. All ages are welcome, no experience needed. Instruction, tools and snacks will be provided. Plan to have a fun day of helping our river’s wildlife.
