Herrings House Park (Tulaltwx) - Duwamish River Fall Planting …10/25/2024
Activities
Fall has arrived along the Duwamish, Seattle’s only river, now a live with the return of all 5 species of its salmon. This is one of the best times to visit and help restore habitat which supports not only salmon but a wide variety of wildlife in this ancestral home of the Duwamish People. We will be removing weeds, mulching and planting of native plants that are significant for salmon and the Duwamish Tribe. Learn about the river, its wildlife and the Duwamish Tribe at the Longhouse, across from the park. This park is easy accessed with flat, short paths. All ages are welcome, no experience needed. Instruction, tools and snacks will be provided. Plan to have a fun day of helping our river’s wildlife.
