Plant a forest and grow community! Help us create a healthier, happier, and greener Seattle by coming out to kick off planting Season on Green Seattle Day! From creating wildlife habitat, to combating climate change, and providing a place for residents to recreate: having a hand in Green Seattle Day is one of the best ways to give back to your neighbors, parks, and your local forest.
Join the fun and be one of hundreds of volunteers across the city planting native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers that will become the future forest of Seattle. All community members are welcome, and no experience is necessary! The event is family friendly and open to all ages.

What to Bring
Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking shoes or boots), long sleeves, long pants, warm layers and rain jacket. We'll have tools and gloves for you to use, as well as a mid-morning snack. Help reduce waste by bringing your own water bottle!
Where to Meet
Meet near the southeast corner of sportsfields 1-4. This at the base of the west side of Kite Hill and along the North Cross park trail.
To reach it from the west side of the park head east from parking lot W6 between the Children's Play area and Rugby field 5 then cut across or circle around sports fields1-4.
To reach it from parking lot E-4 at the swim beach head uphjil on the mowed grass area to reach the North Cross Park Trail then head west on the trail to reach the meeting place.
Be aware that the walk from either parking lot may take about 15 minutes and that there is a bus stop near the NE 74th St. park entrance.
Where to Park
Park in lot W6. To reach if from Sandpoint Way NE enter the park on NE 74th St and head east about a quarter mile and y0u ou will see lot W6 to the south.
If parking in the lot E4 enter the park eastbound on NE 65th St. from the Sandpoint Way NE/NE 65th St intersection. From there proceed straight eastward into the park for about a half mile to a stop sign then bear left (North) about 3/8 mile to reach the swim beach parking lot. Directional signage along the route shows the way to the swim beach
