Longfellow Creek GS: Central - Planting a Native Food …11/16/2025

Activities

Following the hard work of many restoration events in this space, we are ready to start planting! With your help, we are evolving Longfellow Creek into a thriving native food forest.

Come learn about the different trees, shrubs, and groundcovers we’re planting, including Cedar, Maple, Elderberry, Nootka Rose, Huckleberry, Salmonberry, Ferns, Salal, and much more. If interested, we can dive deeper into their edible and ecological benefits.

Walk away with pride, knowing your efforts support local ecology, community, and overall good health.

All ages OK

1 out of 20 participants registered.

What to Bring

Long sleeve shirt and pants recommended
Boots (or at least closed toe shoes)
Gloves (if you have your own, otherwise we have backups to share)
Raincoat, just in case
Water and snacks

Where to Meet

At or near the creek bridge, just south of where 24th Ave SW dead ends with the trail. You'll see a brown metal tool box at the dead end where the trail starts and we'll be just past that. You can also get here from the south end of the green space at Willow st.

Where to Park

Along 24th Ave SW, a few cars can fit on the west side of the road just north of the green space, though more spots can be found further north near the intersection of 24th and 25th. There is also some street parking on the south side of the greenspace around Willow st and 24th Ave SW. Please respect the neighbors and don’t park on lawns or block driveways.
