Kubota Gardens Natural Area - English Ivy Removal - …12/27/2025

Activities

So much ivy! Every month, volunteers make a big difference by removing ivy so that trees, bushes, ferns and other native plants have room to grow. As you will quickly see, the ivy covers large areas of ground and is climbing up trees. We also are discovering small Himalayan blackberry plants and getting those out immediately is a priority. No experience is needed - just bring your energy and interest in making a difference!

All ages OK

What to Bring

Dress for work and the weather: long pants, long-sleeved shirts, closed toed shoes. Remember your water bottle and snacks as you need them.

We have tools and some gloves but feel free to bring your own.

Where to Meet

Use 5171 S Ruggles St. for map navigation to the area. We will be working in the greenbelt immediately to the north of the road and before the private driveway. Look for the "Another Future Healthy Forest" signs.

Although the area we are working in is part of the Kubota greenbelt, you cannot access the space from Kubota Garden. Please use the address above to find the work site.

Where to Park

Parking is available at the top of the hill and using the right-of-way on the left side of the road. Please observe the no parking signs by the utility gate.
