Westcrest Park - MLK Day Planting Event …01/19/2026

Activities

Join Dirt Corps in celebrating MLK Day with a community planting and restoration event at Westcrest Park, part of the West Duwamish Greenbelt!
We will be caring for our restoration area by planting native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers, and removing non-native weeds (looking at you, blackberry!).
These low-intensity activities are fun for all ages and skill levels. We look forward to seeing you out!

All ages OK

8 out of 70 participants registered.

What to Bring

Please bring with you what you will need to be comfortable whilst spending a few hours working outside. Dress in clothed layers for the weather, and consider bringing additional dry, insulating, or waterproof layers.

Remember to bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, or any other accessories to protect yourself from the elements.

Remember that blackberry thorns are sharp and can snag clothing, and that the terrain may be uneven and/or wet.

We will be providing gloves and tools for all to use, as well as snacks, hot drinks, and water.
