Green Lake Park - Ivy Removal and New …03/07/2026
Activities
Help us maintain the recently planted native vegetation. We will be mainly focusing on removing new ivy starts that are trying to get a foothold in the area. We will also be adding some additional plantings near the new frog pond restoration project to help attract amphibians to the area and support wildlife.
All ages OK
17 out of 20 participants registered.
What to Bring
Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking shoes or boots), long sleeves, long pants, warm layers and rain jacket. Bring a water bottle and a snack if you'd like. We'll have tools and gloves for you to use, or feel free to bring your favorite pair of gloves. The ivy is mainly growing along the lakeshore, so rubber boots are ideal for that wet terrain.
Where to Meet
We will meet at the Southeast corner of the Aqua Theater. Look for Forest Stewards in our orange vests. From there, we will walk together to the project site, which is about a 3 minute walk to the east following the blacktop path around the lake counter clockwise (i.e. if you are facing the lake, it's to the right of the Aqua Theater bleachers and small craft center/rowing center).
From I-5 North, take exit 169 toward NE 50th ST
Turn left onto 50th ST, heading west
Turn right onto Green Lake Way N which turns into East Green Lake Way N
Turn left onto West Green Lake Way N
The coordinates for the meeting place are 47.671415, -122.342357
Where to Park
Park at the south end of the park - there are parking areas by the Aqua Theater bleachers at the south end of the park, or a little further north by the small craft center/rowing center or further south by Lower Woodland Park Soccer Fields. 5750-5900 West Green Lake Way N
