Green Lake Park - Green Lake Food Forest …07/11/2026
Activities
Did you know Green Lake has a Food Forest? Many of the plantings were just added this spring and need our help as they get established. We will be removing any bind weed, creeping buttercup, English ivy and Himalayan blackberry that is starting to re-grow to give the new plantings some room. We will also provide some water support.
All ages OK
10 out of 20 participants registered.
What to Bring
Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and clothing that will protect you from thorns, rain and sun. Bring a water bottle and a snack if you'd like. We'll have tools and gloves for you to use, or feel free to bring your favorite pair of gloves.
Where to Meet
We will meet at the Southeast corner of the Aqua Theater bleachers. Look for Forest Stewards in our orange vests. From there, we will walk together to the project site, which is about a 5 minute walk to the east following the blacktop path around the lake counter clockwise (i.e. if you are facing the lake, it's to the right of the Aqua Theater bleachers and small craft center/rowing center).
