Herrings House Park (Tulaltwx) - Duwamish Alive! Saving Our …10/17/2026

Activities

Join us for this unique experience along Seattle’s only river the Duwamish when the river is alive with its returning salmon and the wildlife that they bring. We will be helping to restore the health of this important salmon habitat by diversifying the native plants, replenishing mycelium, removing invasive plants, and mulching. This has very easy access, with flat paths and short distances. Learn about the history, its ecosystem and the tribal cultural importance of this area. Visit the Duwamish Long House across the street too.

What to Bring

This is a flat, easily accessed site so please wear comfortable footwear and clothing that is weather appropriate and can get dirty. Bring garden or work gloves and a water bottle. If it’s sunny, a hat and sunscreen. If you don’t have your own gloves, we will provide them.

Where to Meet

We will meet in the area with the tables, next to the parking lot.
