Discovery Park - Tree Planting the Forest …10/31/2026

Activities

"The best day to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is now." We have a bunch of evergreen trees and some shrubs that will be re-establishing the forest edge where blackberries once claimed the territory. The area is currently grassland so we'll be removing the grass, amending the soil with woodchips and providing a nice mulch ring to hold the moisture in.

What to Bring

WATER and work gloves (I'll have some loaners if you need to borrow). Please wear long pants and sturdy boots. Dress for the weather. We will have loppers, wheelbarrows, tillers and heavy-duty shovels to accomplish our task. We'll take a water break halfway through the event.
