Discovery Park - Planting for the Birds11/12/2026
Activities
Seattle Forest Week is November 7th - 15th!
Plant a forest and grow community! This is the time of year that we get together with our neighbors and kick off tree planting season. From creating wildlife habitat, to combating climate change, and providing a place for residents to recreate: having a hand in Seattle Forest Week is one of the best ways to give back to your neighbors, parks, and your local forest.
Join the fun and be one of hundreds of volunteers across the city planting native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers that will become the future forest of Seattle.
All community members are welcome, and no experience is necessary.
These events are family friendly and open to all ages. The resident Ravens and Pacific Wrens are looking forward to your visit and your help in growing a delicious forest buffet!
On Thursday, November 12, we'll be planting trees and shrubs that provide shelter and food for our feathered friends and pollinators. We'll also tackle some weeds and spread some seeds.
Come enjoy the birds! Contemplate how many caterpillars a Chickadee needs to feed their young and which shrubs grow knitting needles.
