Activities
Restore a forest, grow a community! Help create a healthier, happier Seattle at this local event at Genesee Park, making way for restoring the plant community at this popular park. We will be tackling some weeds to make space for new wildlife-friendly plants. Everyone is welcome, no experience needed.

What to Bring
Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking shoes or boots), long sleeves, long pants, hat, warm layers and rain jacket. We'll have tools and gloves for you to use, as well as coffee, water, and a mid-morning snack. Help reduce waste by bringing your own refillable coffee mug/water bottle if you have one! If you have a favorite pair of gloves, please feel free to bring them.
Where to Meet
We will meet at the very SOUTH end of Genesee Park, near the turf soccer fields. From the parking lot on the south side of S Genesee Street, walk away from the lake and up the hill past the turf playing fields to the edge of the forest. There will be Green Seattle signs. Also, look for your Forest Steward in an orange vest!
Where to Park
Park in the paved parking lot on the south side of Genesee Street at the intersection with 43rd Ave S. If you are in the gravel parking lot, you are in the wrong spot! Just cross Genesee street, go past the playing fields and look for our group.
