Discovery Park - Capehart Forest Fall Planting …11/28/2026

Activities

Planting Party: At this is the time of year we plant native trees, shrubs and perennials throughout Capehart Forest. First we remove tenacious weeds such as Himalayan blackberry, dig holes for plants and haul mulch which will be spread around the new plants.

Adults only

0 out of 20 participants registered.

What to Bring

Protect your body from scratches and rashes by wearing a durable, long sleeved shirt, pants, socks and shoes or boots. Water-resistant pants and coat and lots of layers (if it's cold) are also helpful. We have plenty of tools and gloves, but feel free to bring a favorite tool if you like. We are unable to bring food or water.

Where to Meet

Please hike to the site and meet at the entrance to the Capehart Forest along Discovery Park Boulevard crosswalk. You will see a big yellow sign that tells the history of the site.

Where to Park

The North Parking lot is closes, a 15-20 minute walk on the asphalt road past the field on the left, then straight up the hill past Daybreak Star Indian Center on the right until you reach Discovery Park Blvd. You will see the yellow Capehart Forest historical information sign, logs, and tree stumps where you may sit.
