Kubota Gardens Natural Area - United Way Martin Luther …01/20/2020

Activities
This year, our focus will be on winter planting. Volunteers will haul potted plants up to restoration sites. There may be some invasive plant removal to do. Then replacement native plants will be put in the ground. Winter planting gives the plants months to establish roots before they have to survive the next summer’s PNW drought conditions. Volunteers are invited to ask the forest stewards about the site they are restoring, Pacific North West plants and ecology, and the value of native forests.
All ages OK
4 out of 110 participants registered.
What to Bring
There is no water on site. Please bring drinking water and a snack or lunch. Dress for the weather. Wear shoes you do not mind getting muddy. Since there are blackberry and nettles volunteers may prefer to wear long sleeves and pants. The Seattle Parks natural area tool will supply tools and gloves.
