Discovery Park - Ryan's Ridge wood chip …10/03/2026
Activities
Most of the blackberries have been removed from the extensive Ryan's Ridge site which parallels the parade grounds road, so the final step in the summer restoration process is to cover all bare ground with wood chips to keep seedlings from sprouting. About 1/2 of the necessary work is hauling wood chips and 1/2 of the work is pulling and digging up blackberry resprouts. All of this is in preparation for planting in November.
All ages OK

What to Bring
WATER and work gloves (I'll have some loaners if you need to borrow). Please wear long pants and sturdy boots. Dress for the weather. We will have loppers, wheelbarrows, tillers and heavy-duty shovels to accomplish our task. We'll take a water break halfway through the event.
